Brushes and Brooms

Signs of Improvement

Housekeeping ought to be a full time job. It’s not easy—anybody who works around the house knows that. What sets housecleaning apart from other jobs is that it’s easy to slack off when it comes to washing the laundry, scrubbing the bathroom tiles or doing the dishes. It’s a good thing we have brushes and brooms and mops, and they’re all showing signs of improvement both in quality and efficiency. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Here are the different types of basic house cleaning implements:

  • Toilet Brush – This is a domestic tool used to clean the lavatory or bathroom, usually with bleach or toilet cleaner. Toilet brushes have bristles that are much shorter and tougher than regular brushes.
  • Mop – A mop is used for cleaning floors. Looking at its basic structure, it’s obvious the mop was designed for sweeping and mopping floors, but in some cases it is also used to clean tiled walls. Jacob Howe invented and patented the mop holder in 1837. The different types of mops are the dust mop, moist mop, yarn mop, hot mop and syntho mop.
  • Broom – Brooms are use to sweep dust from floors and sometimes other surfaces as well. They are definitely one of the most common pieces of housekeeping equipment worldwide.

Even The Dog Can Do It

Cleaning the house was never easy, but thanks to modern advances in technology, it doesn’t have to be as difficult as it was two or three decades ago. “Housecleaning? Advances in technology?” you say. Yes, even housecleaning tools and implements are subjects of modern science’s blessings. If that doesn’t make you happy, we don’t know what will.
