How to Make Homemade Window Cleaner

Some commercial window cleaners are made of chemicals that can be harmful to the environment. You can make your own window cleaner with a few simple ingredients that are safe, and work just as well as commercial window cleaning chemicals.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of warm water (tap water will do);

  • 1 cup of white vinegar;

  • A quarter cup of lemon juice;

  • 1 cup of rubbing alcohol.

How to Use

Pour all the ingredients in a spray bottle and shake well (For more information on spray bottles, see The Guide to Hand Sprayer). Spray a generous amount on the window, and run over it with a Squeegee or a clean rag. This safe, non-toxic, environmentally friendly window cleaner can remove streaks and caked-in dust just as well as commercial window cleaners. The lemon juice also adds a fresh, lemony scent to your windows. For more information regarding this article, read how to make a window cleaner.
