Keep Your Refrigerator Smelling Fresh and Clean

After you have cleaned out your refrigerator of months-old food that you seem to have forgotten to eat or cook with, your refrigerator probably has that foul, moldy stench. A stinky, smelly refrigerator is no place for you to store your food, and the odors inside probably harbor microorganisms that can be very dangerous to your health.

The first thing you need to do is to soap down the walls of your refrigerator with a mixture of antibacterial detergent, warm water, and rubbing alcohol. The detergent and alcohol will kill the bacteria lingering on your refrigerator walls.

After cleaning the inside walls thoroughly with the cleaning solution, open up a fresh box of baking soda and place it inside your empty refrigerator overnight. The baking soda will absorb all the odors, and leave you with a clean-smelling place to store food in. It is also a good idea to keep one or two boxes of baking soda inside your refrigerator at all times. (Want to learn other uses of baking soda, see 75 extraordinary uses for baking soda)

Clean refrigerators do not only smell good, but they make for a better place to store cooking ingredients and leftovers. For more information regarding this article, read how to get rid of refrigerator smells.
