Clean Clogged Drains Without the Environmental Hazards
Little do you know it, but commercial drain cleaners can be very harmful to the environment. Whatever you pour into your drain pipe will eventually make their way into your community’s water supply.
Most kitchen sinks are clogged by soap and used cooking oil. If you dump the water you used to cook potatoes or spaghetti into your kitchen sink drain, some trace amounts of starch can also add to the obstructions. The good news is that you do not have to use caustic drain cleaners to get rid of the blockage in your kitchen sink drain.
Plain old boiling water usually does the trick. The heat of the boiling water melts down cooking oils and dish washing soap that clog your drain. A good idea would be to dissolve two tablespoons of baking soda into the water before boiling it. The baking soda acts as a deodorizer, and masks the foul-smelling odors that may waft out of the kitchen sink drain. (For more uses of baking soda, read how to make baking soda applications)
You do not need to use toxic drain cleaners to get rid of whatever clogs your kitchen sink. All you need is a kettle of hot water to do your small bit in saving the environment. For more information regarding this article, read how to get rid of clogged drains.
