Personal Care - Up Close and Personal

The Regular Cleansing Routine

It’s hard to imagine how anybody wouldn’t want to take a bath or shower on a regular basis. There is no set number of times a week that one should shower or bath as we are all different. The important thing is to have a regular routine and to ensure that bacteria and dirt are not causing issues to yourself or the people around you. Our body releases heat while we sleep. It’s a natural process that everybody goes through in his or her sleep, and it no doubt leaves us rejuvenated in the morning, but also but smelling like old skin. Take a bath or shower and use personal cleaning products to clean the dirt and bacteria away.

In the shower, start by scrubbing with a sponge and some body wash or soap. Scrub carefully and thoroughly and concentrate on the body areas that you think would attract the most bacteria or dirt. Most body wash products are mild on the skin. Read the product ingredients carefully and make sure that you and your family are not in any way allergic to the product. Some individuals are even allergic to certain scents. If this is the case look for as pure of a soap or body wash as possible that is unscented.

Skin Exfoliation

Our skin sheads dead skin cells. Sometimes to help get rid of the dead skin cells on our face or body, an exfoliatent can be used. For the face there are cleansers that you can use that will be specific for this purpose. For exfoliation of the face, you might want to do this 1-2 times per week. A skin exfoliation cleanser will have a grit to it so when you are washing your face it will feel like you are scratching away at the older skin layer and getting rid of the dead skin cells. The result, a fresher, cleaner looking face. You can use an exfoliating scrub or wash on the rest of your body also, but it is suggested not to use the one that you bought specifically for your face. Taking Care of your Hair

Two popular shampoo types are regular and anti-dandruff. While anti-dandruff shampoos help keep your scalp healthy and dandruff free, some anti-dandruff shampoo products contain certain chemicals that, with long term use, may be too harsh on the scalp. This could lead to dry scalp and severe itchiness. The trick here is to know when to use an anti-dandruff shampoo and when to use a regular one. Babies have their own baby shampoo products, so never wash a baby’s hair using a regular shampoo. Do that and you risk doing permanent damage to your baby’s scalp and hair. There are many products on the market for all of your personal care needs. So whether you are looking for soap, face-wash, body wash or shampoos, there are many options available. The best thing you can do is to try different brands and scents to see what you like. Read the ingredients as some products may be more natural then others.

This database is a really great place to see if your shampoo, makeup, toothpaste and everything else is actually toxic to your body or the environment. I'm going to be switching brands on pretty much everything I use, now. http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com
