Power Washer: Clean As You Go

Not A Pretty Picture

Power washers help keep floors looking clean and tidy. They’re motorized pieces of equipment that use high-pressurized water to remove dirt, dust, mud, grime and mold from surfaces and objects like concrete roads, vehicles and buildings. They’re pretty darn expensive, too, so don’t make the mistake of buying the wrong kind of power washer. Take it from us: it’s not a pretty picture.

Buying Guide

Here are some basic facts about power washers:

  • Where you’re planning to use the power washer determines which type works best for you. For instance, electric power washers are better suited indoors, while gas power washers are mainly used outdoors.
  • Electric power washers generate a lot of power and are very quiet. They also require very little maintenance. An electric power washer of course needs to be connected to an electric socket for it to work and that’s where it becomes inadequate for outdoor use.
  • Outdoors: that’s where the gas power washer comes in. These machines don’t need to be connected to a wall socket and thus are highly valued for their portability. They require regular cleaning and maintenance though, so you might as well buy a complete set of cleaning equipment to go along with it.

Buying a new power washer is not an easy task. You choose carefully, very slowly, from a number of available units. Make sure to shop around and compare prices, warranties, and features. Choose carefully, and make the right choice.
